The counselor will perform all clinical activities per the company contract, and F.A.C. 65D-30.  The counsleor will ensure that all Federal Confidentiality regulations are followed as it pretains to the clincal file and the inmates,  The counsleor will facilitate learning modules, completion of psychosocial, treatment plannning and all updates are required by the F.A.C. 65D-30.


• Facilitate Program Modules and Manuals per Company policy and Company Contract.
• Attend all staff meetings.
• Be available for emergency counseling sessions with any inmate while on shift.
• Be available to work all shifts to ensure proper coverage per contract and policy standards.
• Clock in and out utilizing the company time and attendance policy.
• Maintain a caseload.
• Must be able to perform the major functions of job with or without an accommodation.


  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in any of the social sciences; and six (6) months of professional experience in chemical addiction counseling and/or mental health counseling; or
  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in any unrelated area of study; and one (1) year of professional experience in chemical addiction counseling and/or mental health counseling; or
  • A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in any of the social sciences;  and six (6) months of professional experience in chemical addiction counseling and/or mental health counseling; or
  • A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in any unrelated area of study; and one (1) year of professional experience in chemical addiction counseling and/or mental health counseling; or
  • A  Ph.D.  from  an  accredited  college  or  university  in  chemical  addiction counseling and/or mental health counseling; or
  • A Ph.D. from an accredited college or university in any unrelated area of study; and one (1) year of professional experience in chemical addiction counseling and/or mental health counseling; or
  • Certified Addictions Professional (CAP), Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional  (CCJAP),  Certified  Associate  Addictions  Professional  (CAAP), Certified Criminal Justice Associate Addictions Professional (CCJAAP); or
  • An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of professional experience in chemical addiction counseling and/or mental health counseling; or
  • A High School diploma/GED and six (6) years of professional experience in chemical addiction counseling and/or mental health counseling.
